S is for Serenity

We slide along the slippery slope to the letter "S" for the A to Z Challenge.

Serenity? Such a nice concept, sure wish I had some.

Everyone has heard the Serenity Prayer. I'd like to take this post to explain it to you. First, here it is:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

Simple, eh?

Now, here it is with DC's explanation in parens...

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
(You cannot change other people, places or things!)

The courage to change the things I can,
(You can only change yourself!)

And the wisdom to know the difference.
(DC jabbing finger into your chest: Damnit, I just gave you the wisdom!)

Are you serene yet?
